- The plate dimensions of this impression could not be documented because this work is not in MoMA's collection and could not be examined in person. The plate dimensions given are from the published paper impression in MoMA's collection. Dimensions of fabric works often vary slightly due to stretching.
Publisher Harlan & Weaver groups the editioned state of this composition on paper with ten other drypoints of 1999, under the title, “11 Drypoints.” Each of the 11 compositions can be displayed individually. The full set is as follows: “The Accident,” “The Angry Cat,” “Don’t Put your Foot in your Mouth,” “Fear,” “Feet,” “Fences are Obsolete,” “Madeleine,” “Mosquito,” “Mother and Child,” “Please Hang in There,” “The Smell of the Feet.” - Description:

- Changes from version 2, state II in drypoint: female figure's hair and features further delineated; child's genitals and eye delineated; chimney-like elements filled in.
Distress marks lightened slightly through inking and wiping. - Other Remarks:
