- Curatorial Remarks:
- Although the verso of the source drawing is inscribed "Landscape" by the artist, the Louise Bourgeois Studio has designated the title of the drawing to the same as that of the print. The drawing was exhibited in "Louise Bourgeois Drawings and Sculpture" at Kunsthaus Bregenz in 2002. The accompanying catalogue lists the title as "Landscape."

Plate 1, in drypoint, engraving, and aquatint: house and sun.
Plate 2, in aquatint, drypoint, and engraving: shading in mounds, sun, and lowest horizontal band.
State Changes:
Plate 1 printed in black. Plate 2 printed in red.
Changes from state XIX, by burnishing, in plate 2: some aquatint removed.
Changes from state XIX, in engraving, in plate 2: hatch marks added to mounds; lowest horizontal band and sun filled in. - Installation Remarks:
- The prints in this portfolio can be shown as a group or individually. There is no required sequence.
- Other Remarks:
- Although it appears possible that the artist used a new plate for state VII, Carol Weaver of Harlan & Weaver, New York, remembers Bourgeois extensively working the same plate and continuing to use it. A new plate was not introduced until state XVI.
